Parents enrich the program by contributing their time, commitment, talent, and skills to the school.  Parent-teachers provide an unparalleled teacher-to-student ratio, which provides children a level of individualized, thoughtful attention that cannot be found elsewhere.

Parents contribute in many ways:

• Co-op Day – A family member joins the classroom for one weekly Co-op Day, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Co-op Day strengthens adult-to-child ratios, gives families a close view of the children's learning, and makes the classroom a shared community space.

• Committee Positions – Parents contribute their skills by holding a committee position matched to their family strengths and school needs, such as fundraising, finance, community, communications and operations.

• Monthly Meetings – TCCP holds six required business meetings during the school year. Meetings are collaborative, conversational, and action-oriented. They are used to share school business, make decisions, learn together, and work toward community, fundraising, and event goals

• Maintenance & Fundraising – Parents participate in all the little things that make a community school possible, such as fundraising events, Community Work Days, laundry and miscellaneous jobs. Engaging families in the ongoing care and improvement of the school helps keep tuition affordable, fosters a sense of co-op pride, and cultivates community bonds.
