Learning at TCCP

Curriculum

At TCCP, we believe that following the child’s interests to develop a curriculum is important. The children frequently communicate their interests to teachers and parent-teachers through discussions and by adults observing their play.

Collectively, children and teachers nurture the children’s learning by embracing their interests and creating conducive environments for deeper exploration. They collaborate to craft hands-on experiences that foster sensory exploration. Within this setting, children can engage fully by having opportunities for sustained play scenarios, getting their hands dirty, going barefoot, and exploring without constraints.

Opportunities to play are available throughout the school: from block building and art to garden exploration and hands-on science experiments. Seasonal “invitations to play” ignite children's curiosity, encouraging them to actively acquire knowledge and integrate their experiences.

”Children are intrinsically motivated to select activities that promote physical, language, and social-emotional development with play-based scenarios.  Recent research highlights the holistic benefits of play-based learning, demonstrating its positive impact on cognitive development, creativity, problem-solving skills, and emotional intelligence.”
