Our School

Our school provides a rich environment both inside and out that sparks curiosity and encourages problem solving and interaction with friends. Teachers model and assist children in a variety of conflict-resolution skills and encourage cooperative play. Our play-based approach allows us to create a variety of activities and centers that provide opportunities to learn skills in math. science, literacy, gross and fine motor development. Here are a few highlights of our curriculum:

  • Art provides children with opportunities for expanding their creative expression and imagination as well as experiencing the joy of art. We encourage self-directed art projects using a variety of re-cycleable and natural materials.
  • Language Arts begin with our morning circle and are woven throughout the day with opportunities to play in the dramatic play area and other centers throughout the school. Children may borrow from our extensive library.
  • Our playground is a wonderful environment filled with play structures, tricycles, sandbox, pirate ship with lookout deck, sensory garden, playhouse, art easels and interactive water structure.
  • Enrichment teachers share their talents of music, yoga, dance, Spanish and singing with the children on a monthly basis.

    • Eco Friendly & Healthy
    We celebrate recycling at the TCCP. Children pull from recyclable materials to create art and props for dramatic play. We use eco-friendly cleaning supplies, discourage waste and strive to consume less. TCCP provides a daily snack that is nutritious, diverse and primarily organic.

    Our Director
    Maureen Johnstone has been with TCCP since 2004 and has been a preschool teacher and Director for over 20 years. She is experienced and well educated in early childhood development and school administration. Maureen believes in the play-based approach to early learning and has created a program with play and structure balanced to meet the unique developmental needs of each child.
